How far will you go?

For the beautiful golden bird
made of sunlight and fire.
Will you carry her to the moon
if that is what she desires?
If the bird wants to swim in the ocean
when they are none left
because they all dried up one after another
leaving behind salt and regret.
Would you cry her a river
or slay dragons to make a blood lake
Would you steal the moon from the sky
to make her sing again?
And if the gold lost it’s shine
If her opal eyes turned to cheap stone,
to save your lost golden bird
How far would you go?
